Guarding History

Join us in preserving a vital piece of history at the Flat Rock Archive, Inc; nestled in the heart of Stonecrest, Georgia. This remarkable site not only embodies the rich heritage of the area through the iconic 20th-century Georgian Cottage known as the T.A. Bryant, Sr. House, built in 1917, but also tells a deeper story.

The T.A. Bryant, Sr. house, graciously donated by the son of Rev. T.A. Bryant, Sr. and Co-Founder Rev. T.A. Bryant, Jr., forms the cornerstone of our legacy. Our grounds extend beyond this historic dwelling, encompassing a barn, smokehouse, and outhouse, each bearing silent testimony to the bygone eras of the 20th century.

But perhaps most poignant is the Historic Flat Rock Cemetery within our care, a sacred ground holding the stories of enslaved people, a testament to their resilience and strength.

At the Flat Rock Archive Inc, our mission is to safeguard and celebrate these narratives. We diligently gather and preserve a plethora of archival treasures: from genealogical records to rare books, from old newspaper articles to maps, and from church and school records to photographs and tangible artifacts. Each piece is a thread in the rich tapestry of African-American history in the rural South.

Your support is crucial. We are at a pivotal moment in our journey to restore and protect this unique heritage site. Every contribution, large or small, helps us keep the past alive for future generations to learn from and honor. Be a part of this noble cause. Help us protect and enliven the Flat Rock Archive, Inc – a beacon of history and a testament to the enduring spirit of our community.
